Description
The Station Covered Bridge near Northfield Falls, Vt. was constructed in 1872. It is 137 ft. long with a central support pier. The bridge is a single-span Town Lattice Truss construction (you may be able to see the lattice structure in this Image). It is covered by a metal gabled roof, and its exterior is sheathed in vertical board siding. The siding extends around the inside a short distance to shelter the ends of the trusses. The bridge rests on stone abutments faced in concrete. The bridge was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
