Lake McDonald is the largest lake in the Glacier National Park. It is located on the west side of the Continental Divide, ending at the Apgar Village in west Glacier. The lake is 10 miles long, one mile wide and 472 feet deep. Along the southeastern edge of Lake McDonald lies the Going-to-the-Sun Road. Approximately 10 miles up the lake on the eastern side is the Lake McDonald Lodge, constructed in 1913 to resemble a rustic hunting lodge.
McDonald Creek flows into the northern end of the lake and drains from the southwestern corner, emptying into the Middle Fork of the Flathead River.
Lake McDonald is a beautiful scenic body of water, surrounded my mountains and containing thousands of colored rocks along its shallow edges. Visitors can kayak, canoe, fish or just gaze at the beauty of nature of this wonderful lake.
Photography is one of my main passions in life. I love photographing anything I see that is beautiful, unusual or special. I enjoy shooting nature, landscape, landmarks, animals, architecture and anything else I see that strikes me as worthy of a camera shot. I especially enjoy travel photography and have been fortunate to have seen many wonderful places in this incredible world of ours. I hope that you will find my work worthy of hanging in your residence or office and enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed presenting it to you. Any comments are always appreciated.
