Description
South Beach, Miami, Beach, Fl., has the largest concentration of Art Deco buildings in the world. There are over 900 of these buildings in the area between 5th and 23rd streets along Collins Ave. and Ocean Dr. The Art Deco style was originated in France in the 1920's and came to the United States soon after. The Art Deco style has many different faces including soft colors, some sharp lines, some soft lines. It is a varies mix of architectural renderings, colors and lines. Any tour of South Beach will reveal this interesting mix of buildings that were originally built in the 1920's and 1930's.
