Description
This modern spiral stair adorns the atrium of the new CODA building adjacent to the campus of Georgia Tech in midtown Atlanta, Georgia. The building will house offices of Georgia Tech researchers, faculty plus entrepreneurs, innovators, and private business. It is intended to provide collaborative spaces for interaction between academic persons and people working in private enterprise. The center will have a state of the art, high-tech computing center, conference rooms, retail and restaurant spaces and underground parking. It is located close to MARTA, Atlanta's modern public transportation system, and close to many midtown apartments and condos, where many young people are choosing to reside today.
The 21 story spiral stair overlooks a glass wall onto West Peachtree St. and, according to the developer, Portman Holdings, is the tallest spiral stair in the world. It is truly a work of art and a very unique addition to the area surrounding Tech Square.
