"Gone With the Wind" - Suntrust Park, home of the Atlanta Braves since its opening in 2017, has been renamed Truist Park as of 2020. Upon leaving Turner Field in 2017 the Atlanta Braves called Suntrust Park their home. It was built as a public-private partnership with Cobb County and is located ten miles northwest of downtown Atlanta, just outside I-285, Atlanta's perimeter highway. Turner Field, which was originally Centennial Olympic Stadium for the 1996 Summer Olympic games was home to the Braves for almost 20 years, but fans became frustrated trying to get to games, as the stadium was right in the heart of downtown and traffic congestion was bad. The new stadium is close to the intersection of I-285 and I-75 and offers much more parking, as well as shuttle bus service, than Turner did. However, the name Suntrust, which had a nice ring to it, had become synonymous with the Braves, but is no more. The bank merged with another bank and the name was changed to Truist Park.
