Description
The black sand beach at Vik is called by it local name, Reynishverfi, and is famous for the expanse of black sand and the 220 feet high boulders in the ocean. To the left of the boulders and the ocean are massive cliffs and caves, which tourists may explore at their leisure. When walking on the black sand beach people are warned to be wary of sudden large waves that can come up without notice and sweep a person out to sea, with deadly results. The strong undertow is very dangerous at this beach, so be warned to stay away from the water.

Lovely seascape, I like how that black sand contrasts with the wave foam!
Richard Krebs replied:
Thank you, William. I also liked the contrast between the black sand and the white foam.
