Description
The Comstock Covered Bridge is located just west of the town of Montgomery, Vt. It traverses the Trout River on Vermont route 118. The bridge was built in 1883, by Sheldon and Savannah Jewett, who also built several other covered bridges in the area. The bridge is a Town Lattice design, 69 feet in length and rests on abutments of stone and concrete. The one-way bridge is 20 feet wide and is clad in vertical board siding and has a metal roof. In this image one can see the lattice work on the right interior of the bridge.
The Comstock Covered Bridge was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
