Description
Oxbow Bend on the Snake River is a popular spot for tourists and photographers. The viewing spot is just beside Hwy 89/191 near Moran, Wy. The name Oxbow reflects the crescent shaped bend in the Snake River that resembles the U-shaped collar of an ox. In the distance is Mt. Moran, one of the tallest mountains in the Teton range. Early morning and sunset at the viewing point attract hundreds of people - tourists and photographers alike, who enjoy the magnificent views and reflections of Mt. Moran in the Snake River. Oxbow Bend is located just one half mile below the Jackson Lake Dam. It is also a prime spot for wildlife viewing.
