Haifoss (on the left) and Granni (on the right) are a pair of beautiful waterfalls located on Rt. 327 in the beautiful Thjorsardalur valley in north central Iceland. Haifoss, at 122 meters (400 ft.) is the fifth tallest waterfall in Iceland. It is not easy to find, as there is practically no signage to assist one in getting there. We were lucky in that we stopped at a place where a "local" was able to direct us. The initial turn off Rt. 32 is a dirt road and then a rough gravel road. One must cross a small stream of running water also. However, if you have a 4x (a must) it is well worth the effort. These twin falls are magnificent (and in my opinion, one of the best in Iceland).
Photography is one of my main passions in life. I love photographing anything I see that is beautiful, unusual or special. I enjoy shooting nature, landscape, landmarks, animals, architecture and anything else I see that strikes me as worthy of a camera shot. I especially enjoy travel photography and have been fortunate to have seen many wonderful places in this incredible world of ours.
