Description
Hjalparfoss Waterfall is a beautiful twin falls just off Rt. 32 in the spectacular Thjorsardalur valley in south central Iceland. It is literally right next to the highway, with a nice sign and a paved parking area. It is almost impossible to miss (unless you were us) and the easiest access of any waterfall we saw in Iceland. In late May the area has already turned green, but the water flow is still huge from the winter snow and ice melt. It is definitely off the beaten path, but, for anyone with enough time, it is well worth the trip.
