The beautiful five-story pagoda and temple on the mountain top in Mayijima Island, Japan, were built in 1407, and dedicated to the Buddha of medicine. The exquisite pagoda has beautiful Japanese and Chinese design details and is perched in a perfect setting on top of one of the island's mountains. Fortunately, this structure has withstood numerous earthquakes and stands today as one of the most elaborate pagodas in Japan.
