The Tokyo Skytree is the tallest tower in the world and the second tallest structure in the world. At 2080 ft., with observation decks at 1150 and 1480 feet, it offers fantastic 360 degree views of Tokyo. The design was completed in 2006 and the tower opened to the public in Feb., 2012. Its contemporary design was intended to emulate traditional Japanese architecture with a modern appearance. It is constructed of steel with a central shaft of reinforced concrete along with vibration dampeners to protect against earthquakes. The panoramic views from the observation deck give visitors amazing views of the vastness of the huge city of Tokyo.
