Artist's Description

Panther Falls is a picturesque waterfall, falling about 50 feet along Panther Creek, located in Rabun County in north Georgia. It is one of the numerous waterfalls to be found in the north Georgia mountains. After the falls, Panther Creek flows into Lake Rabun whose source is the Tallulah River, which begins near the North Carolina/Georgia State Line and meanders southeast until it empties into the Chattooga River along the Georgia/South Carolina border. Along its 48 mile path the Tallulah River feeds six man-made lakes, including Lake Rabun. These lakes were constructed and are operated by the Georgia Power Co. and provide hydroelectric power to parts of north Georgia.
