Located in the Gion District of Kyoto, Japan, the Yasaka Shrine is a landmark of the Shinto religion. It contains several buildings, including the main gate shown here. It is adjacent to one of the main shopping streets in Kyoto, a very busy area. The shrine was built in the 7th century and was once the object of imperial patronage. In 1946, it was designated as one of the Knpei-taisha, meaning that it stood in the first rank of Government supported shrines.
Photography is one of my main passions in life. I love photographing anything I see that is beautiful, unusual or special. I enjoy shooting nature, landscape, landmarks, animals, architecture and anything else I see that strikes me as worthy of a camera shot. I especially enjoy travel photography and have been fortunate to have seen many wonderful places in this incredible world of ours. I hope that you will find my work worthy of hanging in your residence or office and enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed presenting it to you. Any comments are always appreciated.
