Godafoss Waterfall is one of the most picturesque waterfalls in all of Iceland. Located just off the Ring Road, access to both the east and west sides of the falls is easy - there is a paved parking lot and paved paths to each side of the falls. Godafoss falls 40 feet and is 100 feet wide. Ice-blue water flows over the elegant semi-circular arc making Godafoss one of the most photogenic waterfalls in Iceland. Water for Godafoss is supplied by the Skjalfandafljot River, originating in the Icelandic Highlands. It is also one of the best places to view the Northern Lights during the winter season. Godafoss is located in north Iceland, about 45 minutes from Akureyri, Iceland's second largest city.
