Description
The Concord Rd. covered bridge is a one-way wooden bridge located on Concord Rd., in Smyrna, Ga., a suburb of Atlanta. the bridge was originally built in the 1840's. It still carries automobile traffic today, although it has been damaged multiple times by vehicles. Now there are steel protective structures at each end of the bridge.
The Concord Rd. bridge crosses Nickajack Creek, one of the many streams in the Atlanta area that ultimately flow into the Chattahoochee River.
The Concord Rd. bridge is one of the last remaining wooded covered bridges in Georgia.
